British Board of Film Classification (AKA - BBFC)

The British Board of Film Classification is an organisation that funds itself independently and does not depend on government funding like other organisations. They are funded by the film industry and are responsible for giving films certifications such as 18 rated films (FILMS THAT ARE ONLY VIEWABLE TO 18 AND OVERS). They can also classify some video games.

he BBFCs objective is to protect viewers from harmful footage/content. They aim to inform parents of view discretionary of their children in order to protect them, they also claim they aim to stay respectful of peoples choice by law to show there children footage. There main reason of existence is to provide an effective service to enforce restrictions that are suitable.
